Morocco’s Reaction to the Gold Casket

What did Prince of Morocco, in The Merchant of Venice, answer to the lesson from the gold casket?

After the gold casket said,

“Fare you well, your suit is cold.”

Morocco said to himself,

“Cold indeed, and labour lost:

Then farewell heat, and welcome frost.”

This shows how the actor playing Morocco should come on to and out of the stage.

He comes with passion, the heat, and leaves with cold despair, seeing his whole future life in frost, i.e., with no love.
