    One Little Step Forward

A rehearsal for an opera to be preformed in September.

World class singers will sing their favorite songs in Part One.

Part Two is a performance of Magic Flute, an opera written by Mozart.

And what a surprise! Elica Miwa will sing a part!

I never thought I will be singing in an opera.

It is even beyond a dream.

But one day, I happened to start learning classical style singing.

It has been nine years since.

    Small part, short time.

    But still…

    I am in an opera!

    And it is Magic Flute!

Step forward, toward your dream however remote it seems.

    It needs courage.

    Step forward.

    Vowel and Feelings

    Vowels carry emotions and feelings.

My voice coach at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) once told me that vowels carry emotions and feelings.

Sure, we can deliver many different feelings on “Oh”.

    Feel vowels in speaking.

Is Japanese language illogical comparing to English?

My sister is a linguist doctor.

When we had dinner together today at Grand Prince Hotel in Tokyo, we discussed whether Japanese is illogical comparing to English.

As a theatre director studying Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, and modern dramatists, I think English language is also quite illogical.

    Actors speak often very illogically.

However, intellectual people such as writers, teachers, directors speak and write logically indeed; they have been educated how to develop their thoughts logically.

    Human beings are illogical.

Whether it is either in Japanese or English, we need to train ourselves to speak and write logically, so that we can literally communicate what we think.

^^ Live Interaction of the Day ^^

    Try to speak logically.

    …Yes, it’s difficult.

But when you at least try to think and speak logically, you will be doing it.

Just like muscle training; try a little further, it will develop. Try not at all, no development.
